The collaborative collection by Tommy, the fourth-generation inheritor of the "Tang's Dough Figurine" intangible cultural heritage, has been launched.
R335GOLF specially invited Tommy, the fourth-generation inheritor of the "Tang's Dough Figurine", to jointly create the Mid-Autumn Festival special gift - "Ling Ba Yue Yao".
Dough is a rather special artistic material. It is the earliest combination of food and art, emerging after the agrarian civilization had developed to a certain level.
The "Tang's Dough Figurine" can be traced back to 1882, founded by Mr. Tang Zibo (1882 - 1971).
Tommy, born into an artistic family in Beijing, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence in Italy. As the fourth-generation inheritor of the "Tang's Dough Figurine", Tommy's dough figurine creations lean more towards the traditional style, while also integrating more cultural elements into the intangible cultural heritage techniques.
Tommy said that the design inspiration for this "Ling Ba Yue Yao" mainly comes from a traditional Chinese jewelry-making technique, namely kingfisher feather inlaying, which involves the feathers of kingfishers, gold and silver filigree, and inlaid with various gemstones.
Therefore, the choice of the main material aims to replicate the metallic luster and changes of bird feathers. The lines on the main product are in the pattern of filigree, giving a feeling of clouds and water. Pearls are also selected to represent the full moon and family reunion during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
When we think of the Mid-Autumn Festival, images like Chang'e, the moon, toads, the Moon Palace, and osmanthus flowers come to mind. Thus, for the packaging design, Tommy created a painting that incorporates all these traditional elements. Inside the box, he wrote a calligraphy piece, "Chan Gong Zhe Gui", as a good omen.
The "Tang's Dough Figurine" artist is the first intangible cultural heritage artist to collaborate with R335GOLF. We hope that more people can get to know this intangible cultural heritage technique through different means.
There are only 25 pieces of "Ling Ba Yue Yao" available, and it will be launched on September 13th, 2024.
Finally, we wish that everyone lucky enough to own this product can achieve success, both in life and on the golf course.
